I am not going to write in my class blog anymore.  Don’t worry, I am not going to stop blogging! I just moved to a new blog, my own blog or how I call it: “O meu primeiro blog…o  meu último blog!“,  that means “my first blog…my last blog!”.  But this will probably not be my last blog, because I am going to change my URL. This site belonged to a friend of mine, but she couldn’tgo into the site, so she created a new blog,  and now I  have this one, but  its just for now. I hope all of you go  comment in my new blog and don’t comment me in our class blog anymore, please. See ya in  my  new blog!

What I Think of a Friend

     I have got one best friend only, my BEST FRIEND FOREVER! Her name is Filipa and she is generous, smart, good listener, good talker and much more, but this is what I think that describes her better and the qualities that I like more about her. 

     She is everything I want in a friend!

• I like my friends to be generous, because they can share, and that is a very important quality.
•  I like my friends to be smart, so we can talk and we can both understand each other. 
• I like my friends to be good listeners, so they can hear me if I have any problem thats need help.
• I like my friends to be good talkers, so I can help them when they have any problem and also so we can talk (or write) – that’s one of the things I like more to do with my friends.
• Other things I like to do with my friends are: play multiple games – hide and seek for one – and most of all have fun our way!

When everything was perfect

     Jasmine was a very popular girl in her school. She was tall; she had green eyes and light brown hair. She was 14 years old and had a 13 years old sister called Kayla. Kayla was tall too, her eyes are just like Jasmines but she had a little lighter hair.  They were known has the “Neskal sisters” because Neskal was they’re surname.

     Both Jasmine and Kayla had lots of friends and everybody knew them. They’re best friends were Jake and Julie. Jake lives in a very rich family and Julie is like Jasmine and Kayla, but not so popular.

      They always had very good grades, so some jealous people called them “The perfect sisters”. But yes, you can say they had a perfect social life.

     It was Monday again, everyone looked tired when going to school. The Christmas break was over… When arriving to school, Jasmine saw her friends (Jake and Julie) near the wall and went to them:

Jasmine: Hey guys! How was your Christmas?

Julie: It was good…

Jake: I loved it!

Jasmine: It was good??? Julie, what’s wrong?

Julie: *sniff sniff* It’s just that…

Jasmine and Jake: What!!??

Julie: It is a bad new…

Jasmine and Jake: What!!??

Julie: My mom is….

Jasmine and Jake: What!!??

Kayla: Hi!

Jasmine and Jake: Let us hear!!!

Kayla: Ok, ok! Calm down!

Jasmine and Jake: Stop talking!!! Julie, what!!??

Julie: Ok! My mom is divorcing with my dad….

Jasmine: Oh my god, that’s terrible!

Triiiiimmmm!!  

Jake: Oh, sorry. I guess its time to go to the English classes…

Julie: Ok…. See you guys at lunch time.

School starts for everyone. Kayla is going to have Biology, Jasmine and Jake are having English and Julie is having Arts. At lunch time:

Jake: (to Jasmine) Hey, look! There’s Julie and Kayla.

Jasmine: (to Julie and Kayla) Hi! How was your first day of school in 2009?

Kayla: Boring…  

Julie: I guessed!

Kayla: It is just so easy! I know it all.

Jake: I don’t see a problem in that! I wished i knew all!

Kayla: Well, then we are different! It is boring because I hear things I already know!

Jasmine: I understand you…

Jake: Julie, about that thing with your parents, explain what happened.

Julie: Well, apparently my mom is in love with some other guy…

Jasmine: Do you at least know him???

Julie: No…  My mom didn’t even tell me who he is yet!

Jake: Really? That’s bad..

Triiiiimmmm!!!!!

Jasmine: Oh my god! I forgot; we had to go 10 minutes before the class starts!

Jake: Oh oh!!!  Bye!!!!

Kayla: Ok………….

Forty five minutes later Kayla and Julie had to go to classes too, but they didn’t get late! In Jake and Jasmine’s class:

Jasmine: *whispering* Jake, can you borrow me a rubber, please?

Mrs Jacqueline (Teacher): Miss Jasmine! D o you want extra homework!!!!???

Jasmine: Yes, please (Jasmine loved homework)!

Well, at last goodbye. I loved this competition and I think I did well. I didn’t quit, not even when I had so many tests as in this moment. I wrote all the ten posts required, but with some delay on the ninth week – sorry about that – . I tried to do all the posts in the right week, but I had lots of tests, so I couldn’t. I’m writint a story that is not in the competition, but I haven’t finished it yet…

I wrote everything in English – I didn’t need to translate -, even the comments to my Portuguese friends!

The one thing I didn´t learn to do was putting images…All the comments that were sent to me were answered in a maximum delay of five days (on weekends). I didn’t identify myself at all. All that people know about me is that my name is Claudia and I am Portuguese.

 Some unexpected events troubled us, but, to me,  the worst ones were:

·     I couldn’t log in from 4 to 10 October because Edublogs was closed to Portuguese members;

·     I couldn’t learn how to put images because our Internet in school doesn’t allow interactive actions with our own sites and Primary classes took the computer’s lab during all lunch breaks.

·     I couldn’t comment in Nadine’s blog because of a technical error. This was bad because Nadine was (and is) the person I most commented.

Given all these facts, I think I did pretty well. I don’t want to seem big-headed, but I give myself a 4 (from 1 to 4).

Thanks for helping me finish this great competition and I hope there will be a new one in th begining of next year!!!

As some of you might not know, 2009 is the year of Astronomy. In my school, there is a project about astronomy: every month there is a different planet, but not with the regular names! With names of important things we should use every day. I will tell you all the months:

• September 2008- Planet Responsability;
• October 2008- Planet Generosity;
• November 2008- Planet Commitment;
• December 2008- Planet Love;
• January 2009- Planet Peace;
• February 2009- Planet Justice;
• March 2009- Planet Reconciliation and Forgiveness;
• April 2009- Planet Truth; 
• May 2009- Planet Humildity;
• June 2009- Planet Joy;
• July- …what about now?  

I dont know what will be July’s planet, no one does… What do you think it should be?

And wich one of the planets above do you consider most important (but not because of the month)?

PS: You probably noticed that the months above aren’t all from 2009. That’s because September to July is our school year.

Recycling In My House

     Recycling is very important for everyone. If we recycle everyday, we are contributing to save the planet, and that’s why me and my family recycle. We have got a garbage bean with three divisions, a green one, a yellow one and a blue one. 

     By recycling, I feel that I’m helping everyone! If you don’t recycle, then I suggest that you start now! Ask your parents to buy a garbage bean like mine; I’m sure they will let you!

     If everyone recycles we will live in a cleaner and more pure world.

     Just remember:

•  Blue bean is for paper and cardboard;
• Yellow bean is for plastic;
• Green bean is for glass.

     First, I went to Nadine’s blog (see one of my posts to know more about it), then I went to Lily’s blog, after Lily’s I passed trowgh Katerine and finally i bumped into Haley’s blog.

     There i saw the first post that was about Education. It talked about all the reasons why you need to learn and have a good education. The reason I considered more important was “Education lets you learn to be aware of what is good and what is NOT”. Actually, I left there a comment:

     Hi Haley!
     I am a Portuguese blogger in the Student Blogging Competition. You can visit me in http://inpi.edublogs.org/category/claudia-c-6a/ . If someone doesn’t get the proper education, it won’t be able to do anything in his life. That someone will never know the good things life has to offer us, only the bad ones. He will probably die soon because he doesn’t know what is good and what is not. Basically he will waste his life. That’s the only reason i am in school!

     My favourite holiday is Christmas!!! It’s the most joyful time of the year, since the day we decorate the Christmas tree to the day we open the presents with a big smile on our fac .

     As I said, Christmas starts when we decorate the Christmas tree; I usually do it in the beginning of December. In the last two years we have been decorating it with colours like white, golden and silver. Before that we decorated it with everything we could find, it was like a rainbow tree!!!! It was nice, but I prefer with the colours we have now; maybe this year we will change something!

     After the tree is done, presents start appearing! Every week we have new gifts under the Christmas tree, most of them are not for me or my brother… But well, we still get lots of gifts, but I am going to talk about that later. Just picture it, a Christmas tree with white, golden and silver decorations with lots of presents, wrapped in all sorts of colours! It’s very nice. 

     On Christmas Eve, we always make a party at night, we invite family, friends… During all night we are waiting forward to open our magnificent and shiny gifts… when, suddenly, we can’t resist any more and start asking my mother if we can open, until she finally lets us!! One of us (or a friend) starts taking the gifts and reading the names. When we hear our names we go running to take it and we open it as fast as we can!!! Usually the gifts are perfect, just what we wanted! We run to the person (or people) that gave us the gift and we hug her or him.

     At Christmas  - 25th of December – we have a party with our dad (my parents are divorced) and we get loads of presents too! The party is always in different places, every year it changes, so i can’t describe the tree! Well,  the rest is almost like Christmas Eve!

This is why Christmas is my favourite holiday! And now you can understand how we spend Christmas in Portugal!!

     Sorry, I forgot to put this in my last post, but I have’nt commented for a long time in Nadine’s blog because of a technical error, not because I dont care about the competition or anything like that…

    I want to comment but I can’t so thats why I dont comment for a long time! But I loved her  blog, as you can read in my last post from Week 5.

     To Nadine: Hi Nadine, sorry for not commenting, but here is the reason. At Learnerblogs we were asked to fill the spam word but there were no spam word blank space to fill! I hope Edublogs is  fixing that problem, please, so I can comment you again!!!

My favourite blog was Nadine’s because i think it is very original and allways has lots of new posts! The other reasons I chose it are: 

• She loves to write, so all the posts are long and nice;
• She is nice herself, not only her posts;
• Every week (I think) she puts in a new pool, its allways very fun!
